Tribute to
Walter Clayton Grizzle
"Paps"
October 27, 1927 - September 11, 2008
"What will we do without him"
As I stumble through this life,
help me to create more laughter than tears,
dispense more happiness than gloom,
spread more cheer than despair.
Never let me become so indifferent,
That I fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child,
or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.
Never let me forget that my total effort is to cheer people up,
make them happy, and to forget, at least momentarily,
all the unhappiness in their lives.
And in my final moment,
may I hear God whisper,
"When you made the people smile,
You made me smile."
Walter Clayton Grizzle Beloved Husband, Father, Papaw, and friend.
Survived by his Brother Pete Grizzle, Of walbash Indiana,
Sister Effie Saterfield of Ellajay Ga
His Children, Mary Hanaway of Chatsworth Ga, Jim Grizzle of Chatsworth ga, and Stanley Grizzle of Chatsworth ga
12 Grandkids, and Numerous Greatgrand kids
and a host of friends and other family members
Paps was always there for anyone no matter what.
He really was truely one of a kind.
Anyone who had the privilage to know him would agree
When i say the world really lost one of the "good-guys"
when Paps passed away.
I am so glad he was in my life, he was my friend, role model, and like a father to me,
and best of all my Paps.
Although ill *never* get over his death,
it's a comfort of sort
to know he's up there in heaven watching down on me,
guideing me through life.
"Gentle Wind"
"Clouds are forming in the sky
As a gentle wind blew across the land
Reaching out to take his hands
For on the winds the angels came
Calling out Paps's name
Left behind, the children's tears
Loving memories of all the years
Of joy and love, a life well spent
And now to God, Paps has went
On angels wings, a heavenly flight
The Journey home, towards the light
To those who weep, a life is gone
But in God's love, one has begun."
We will always love & miss you Paps
