A 1959 Oldsmobile street car is used in a test run on the still unfinished Daytona Speedway. The 31-degree banking at Daytona International Speedway was the steepest in the country, and it awed many drivers. Modified driver Jimmy Thompson perhaps summed it up best when he said, "There have been other tracks that separated the men from the boys. This is the track that will separate the brave from the weak after the boys are gone." Who is driver and the identity of the passengers in the Oldsmobile is uncertain. Big Bill France and Fireball Roberts, with two passengers, took the run in a 1959 Pontiac around the banks of the yet-to-be-paved [!] Daytona Speedway.
