Joe and the donkey [600 size]

[600 size] (Joe Weatherly once brought a donkey with him to his hotel.) After paying $100 for the donkey, Weatherly and some friends took it back to their hotel and managed to get it up to the second floor balcony. The donkey paced back and forth on that balcony all night. Joe did it just to see what kind of reaction folks would have when the saw the donkey. The next day, Little Joe slapped some race stickers on the donkey and rode it in the Darlington parade. Shown above the rear end of the animal was apparently "sponsored" by Grey-Rock brake linings, while the front was "sponsored" by Autolite spark plugs
